Bear McCreary is an award-winning American composer known for his powerful film and television scores. His breakthrough came in 2004 with the music for the cult-favorite series Battlestar Galactica, after which he has gone on to compose music for productions such as The Rings of Power, The Walking Dead, and Outlander. McCreary has won two Emmy Awards and has also received several BAFTA and Grammy nominations for his work in video game music.
In 2024, McCreary released The Singularity, a concept album that combines progressive metal with cinematic orchestration. The album features guest appearances from rock icons including Slash, Serj Tankian, Corey Taylor, and Rufus Wainwright. The sci-fi-inspired work blends heavy guitar sounds with symphonic elements, expanding in live performances into a visual experience that can be witnessed on The Singularity Tour.
